In order for the balcony to stop being the cause of cold and noise in the apartment or just a mess, it's time to put it in order. There can be many decisions on how to repair a loggia, one of them is the most common siding paneling.

Siding is produced in the form of sections - a finishing material, and is suitable for work both inside and outside the building. It is heat-resistant, easy to care for, but rather fragile. For the interior decoration of the balcony with siding, different types of this material are suitable.

• Vinyl siding - such designs are more popular for work on the balcony. PVC can be produced for metal, brick, or imitate a natural wood base. Vinyl sections do not rot, corrode and do not flake off over time, withstand temperature extremes, easy to wash and clean. Vinyl provides the necessary ventilation, so the accumulation of condensation is excluded with this finish.

• Metal siding. Structures can be made of copper, galvanized or steel. Metal panels can have a smooth structure, or they can be produced with various curly textures. It is a more durable base for interior decoration than PVC. But they also weigh more, and this must be taken into account during installation so that the walls and the floor can withstand the entire structure. Usually outbuildings are sheathed with metal siding, but it is also suitable for large stable loggias.

• Wooden siding. These are the most environmentally friendly panels, as they are made from natural raw materials. But they must go through treatment with specific solutions to protect them from decay and exposure to moisture. Wooden sections are recommended to be installed in places with good ventilation or the possibility of unhindered ventilation. The wood-paneled room creates a cozy and warm atmosphere, looks good and rich aesthetically. However, it periodically needs maintenance: impregnation with varnish - this way the cladding will last longer.

There are not so many preparatory works when sheathing a balcony with siding material, nevertheless, in this case, there is an algorithm of actions.

1. It is necessary to achieve clean walls, that is, remove plaster, wallpaper, get rid of plastic panels. In a word, first they remove the old finish and disassemble the existing crate (if any).

2. You need to dry the walls well. It is not recommended to work with this material in high humidity, so any heating device will help you. For one day, turn on the heat gun, fireplace or fan heater on the balcony. It is also recommended to carry out work in dry weather.

3. Installation of a heat insulator. The room is pasted over with special foil paper, for this the foil is coated with mastic (it comes with a heat-insulating material) and glued to the surface. Thermal insulation is needed to keep warm on the balcony.

4. Leveling the floor. To do this, either make a screed under the level or fill the base with a "liquid floor". The first option is cheaper, but more work. In the second option, you will incur costs, but you do not need to align such a base, the elastic solution "fits" itself.

The process of self-assembly of siding is not as terrible as making a frame with your own hands. It is at this stage that the majority makes the largest number of mistakes. If you know some tricks, you can avoid wrong actions, and everything will work out.

Let's list the stages of work.

1. Install the logs in an upright position. Choose wooden blocks (as an option 45x45 mm) - it is easier to attach siding to them, and it is easier to work with them. It is better to fix the wooden block itself to the concrete base with liquid nails, although other methods are also suitable (using an anchor or dowels). The step between the lags is set at about 70 centimeters.

2. Align everything (level both vertically and horizontally). It is advisable to measure each bar during installation, otherwise it will be practically impossible to change anything later.

3. Coat the wood frame with an anti-corrosion agent. To do this, stock up on 2 liters of special impregnation, you will also need a transparent varnish in the amount of 300 g (you can take another paintwork). It is necessary to soak, after 8 hours repeat the procedure with impregnation, and after another 12 hours to varnish. Thus, a reliable protection against bark beetles and corrosive moments is created. Such a base of the frame will withstand even increased moisture.

At this stage, take out the screwdriver - you will need to screw the sections to the finished frame (crate). Do-it-yourself siding of the loggia inside is done by following step-by-step instructions.

1. Place insulation between the guides. This is optional, but desirable.

2. First, you need to sheathe the corners, joining the panels together so that there are no cracks on the finished surface. Lay the sheets around the perimeter. But before that, mount the corner simulators.

3. It is necessary to fasten the sections with self-tapping screws, non-corner joints are made with an overlap. The fastenings are hidden by the subsequent lamella.

4. After finishing the walls, start working on the ceiling.

The final profile should hide the trim. Siding cladding looks ultra-modern, gives the room individuality and looks decorative. Low cost and high physical characteristics attract the attention of buyers to this material.

Installation of siding inside the balcony can be done in a few hours. These works, unlike external finishing, do not require professional skills; any man can easily cope with them on his own.
